Matthieu Allez

Prof. Allez MD PhD is Head of the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and a Professor of Gastroenterology. He elucidated the role of the NKG2D pathway in Crohn’s disease, and his main research interests focus on the regulation of mucosal immune responses in patients with IBD. He has been the Principal Investigator of several clinical trials, has authored or co-authored over 220 publications and co-founded the REMIND group (a national network with the aim of developing translational research in IBD) and the AFEMI (a national organisation for therapeutic education in IBD). He is a member of the IOIBD, GETAID and the Scientific Committee of UEG and served ECCO as its first Scientific Officer and Chair of the Scientific Committee.
